In anticipation of the premiere of the new HBO documentary series we interviewed LGBTQ+ families for HBO social channels. Partnering with each family we utilized their interviews to write physical storybooks. These books addressed the absence of LGBTQ+ representation in children’s literature and were distributed to community activists and organizations, promoting a more inclusive definition of family. My role was to concept the original idea, guide it creatively through each round of reviews, maintaining the core of the idea, as we iterated with internal creative teams and external vendors and of course client stakeholders.
